Just to update... My system has been stable with Grouping/PlayAll for 16 days now. I will not be posting to this thread again unless I have a problem with the 19.0.9 patch.   I guess I'm satisfied. Things are back to working as they were on May 1, 2018.   Good Luck to the folks still having this, and related problems, and to all those who have now been waiting over 1.5 YEARS for Bose to implement their promised and advertised support for AirPlay 2. Hi Touch, I don't know how the weekend might figure into it, but usually it is by the next day.   You PvtMsg the Community Moderator, he reads it and sends your Acct eMail addr to tech support who enterers it into their server, then the next time you open your app after they have done that, your app wil ask you to upgrade your firmware. Some or your speakers might need to be re-added, but only that first time and then they work. ... View more

Hi AnameiaBR   if you cannot remove all speakers from the app then re-add them through the app, connecting them to your WiFi, then you need to “contact us” (us is them, not me) at Bose through the “Contact Us” Links. Good to hear Mattboy, and good luck!   I just passed day 9 with my system up. There's just something about the way it has been operating this time, that gives me a feeling of confidence it will continue (barring other firmware upgrades) Prior to this, 5 days was the longest a reset had lasted for me, 2-3 was normal. I know some people previously got up to1 tand 2 weeks stable before crashing again. So I guess 2 weeks is when I'll have high confidence.   Staying with WiFi, and away from Bluetooth, keeps the system operating in a manner that meets my needs. I'm satisfied. ... View more

Firmware 19.0.5 conflicted with router running the CURRENT WAP2 security mode, especially those whose router manufacturer has already upgraded their firmware to address KRACK.  My router was a current model Linksys running WAP2 security that Linksys had upgraded in February 2018 to addrees KRACK issues. We can only play it by bluetooth pairing outside the ST App to a single speaker, or aux wired to a speaker. I have never knowingly experienced it, but it is my understanding that if/when Bose's ST server is down, I also cannot use the App. If the server or internet connection goes out after one has started a ST session, the ST App will stop functioning.     ... Hi AlaskaMatt, Interesting post. Reading and understanding the significance of what I see, or don't see in a router log is not something that is in my skill set.   I have heard it speculated that something in the 19.0.5 upgrade changed the way the ST system handles the communications between an ST speaker and the Bose servers resulting in a security break that confuses our systems. It appears to vary by the security modes/processes of an individual users' routers.   We reset our systems (by a variety of means) and get them working again. Then each time we start a Grouping or PlayAll session the speakers in that group have to communcate through the Bose server for some reason. Periodically, for some reason, our routers block that communications/check-back and that is when our system fail until we reset them again. Can you see anything is your analysis that supports or refutes something like that happening?   ... View more

Unfortunately, I cannot survey people who might not be having any PlayAll, Grouping, Pairing, WiFI connection, etc. problems, they are not spending their time monitoring this thread.   I would be curious to read replies, from those having problems, about their router/network security settings to see which of these following conditions/options are reflected in their router settings.   If you know how to check . . . Under your router's WIFI Security Mode Settings 1. None or Open 2. WEP or WEP 64 or WEP 128 (those of you with modem/routers from your telephone or cable company that have not been upgraded in the last 5-10 years might actual see this) 3. WPA or WPA-PSK (ditto) 4. WPA2 or WPA2-AES or WPA/WPA2 or WPA/WPA2 Mixed, or TKIP/AES (each might add "Personal" or "Enterprise") If #4, can you check your Router's firmware version to see if you updated or you received an automatic update after January 2018.   Mine setting is #4 "WPA/WPA2 Mixed", with its firmware auto updated in late February 2018. ... Hi AlaskeMatt.   I hope that works for you, but I feel I must let you know that at least 4 of us posting here have tried things very similiar...and it did not last. I got 4.5 days. I did not go back through all these posts to check, but I seem to recall, someone got around 3 weeks, another reported about 2 weeks, and another 3 days.   I set up a distinct LAN network on a Linksys EA6900 with just a 2.4 band active. It was hardwired (and not bridged) through my main router (Linksys EA8500) to get it an internet connection through my cable modem (which was setup to function only as a modem, and not a router). The ONLY devices (IP's) set up on that 2nd router(SSID) were a ST300, four(4) ST10s and an iPod to run the Bose ST App. I even setup a new Bose ST account so it wouldn't be corrupted by anything from the other configuration. All the speakers had been Removed from my previous ST account through the App using the previous router/LAN connection. As I configured this 2nd LAN the Bose speakers were no longer visible on my main LAN and Devices on my main LAN were not visible to my iPod when it was signed on to this 2nd network. I remain extremely frustrated with Bose, but I am not jumping to Sonos and I caution others about investing significant dollars there. Sonos is based on single band “g” wifi. That is 3 generations old, 2005 technology. They also hype as a plus that they do not support Bluetooth. Do they even know what it is? A close examination of the pictures and specs of the hardware of the speakers also looks like something circa 2005, at least pre 2010. Their systems continued functioning will be relying on other current devices continuing to be backwards compatible to a 2005 technology. Hi MartinC Glad to hear you will stay in touch I did not know "speakers... vs. max 4 for Bose (correct me if I am wrong)" I am try ti keep 6 connected. My groupings tend to be either 3 or 4, two of the ST10 on another floor are only group together, never with the other 4. In addition to setting up all 6 on the main WiFi router & SSSID, I have tried keeping the 4 on 1 router(AP with unique SSID), the other two on the main wifi SSID. Any comments? ... View more
