I had exactly the same issue, about 3 months ago (when the Soundbar 700 first came out). For love or money, I couldn't get the Bose remote to control my Shaw Arris box. Went through hours of phone time with Bose support, to no avail... The reality is that; the they have no idea how to make it work, and honestly I don't think they're too interested in a fix. Sorry for being a 'Debbie Downer'... just stating the hard truth.

The remote works fine, when initially paired (except for the delay when I change channels, as stated in another post). However, as soon as I power off the system, the remote no longer works (no longer controls the Arris cable box). I've tried the 30 second power off / on routine... doesn't fix the issue.

Yes, the delay only happens with the cable box. The box is an Arris.

Not sure what to tell you... I have the exact same TV, and mine paired perfectly with the Soundbar 700. (my issue is that the soundbar won't stay paired with the cable box)

The firmare update definitely did not fix the issues... I'm still struggling to ge tmy remote to work properly. Massively disappointing - when you drop a couple grand $ on a system, you kinda expect it to work.

I'm having issues with the settings on the remote control, for the Soundbar 700. I have it paired with my cable box, but every button I press (chanel up/down, guide, etc) has about a 1 second delay... why is this? So annoying... I'm really disappointed in how poorly the 700 remote has worked so far. I had no idea the remote wouldn't work, when I first bought the setup (which was expensive). Found out after I got it all installed, fired-up the app, and was told that the remote was useless until October 4th. Couple thousand dollar letdown... Then I had high hopes that the update would make things work... nope. The remote paired perfectly with my Samsung TV, but the cable box pairing has been a disaster.

I have paired my Soundbar 700 to my Samsung TV. This works without issue. Where I am having a problem, is when I pair it to my cable box. I can pair the remote to my cable box (Arris - Shaw Gateway), and it works perfectly. But, when I power everything off (soundbar, TV, cable box) and then power it all back on again, the setting for the cable box no longer work. It's like it forgets the pairing settings, every time it's powered off.

I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the time that the backlight stays on? The buttons are all black unless they are backlit. (ie. you can't see them unless they are backlit) The backlighting comes on when you move (or shake) the remote... but then the back-lighting goes out within a second or two. Kind of a pain to have to keep shaking the remote, every time I need to see the buttons.

Sorry... Tony_A is correct. I hadn't had my morning coffee, when I posted my original reply. For some reason, I was thinking about the Soundtouch 300... which is not compatible with the new Soundbar 700. As for your original question; as mentioned, the Acoustimass 300 Bass Module is totally compatible. Actually, the new 700 Bass Module is the old Acoustimass 300 unit, with a new name. Identical, and totally compatible.

Samsung HW-J8500R soundbar and sub combo. I don't remember the part number for the rear satellite speakers. The Bose 700 soundbar, sub, and rear speakers (that I just bought this past weekend) absolutely destroy the Samsung setup... no comparison.

Just to add to what was mentioned above: This past weekend, I bought the 700 Soundbar, as well as the 700 sub, and rear satellite speakers. I have it hooked up to my Samsung UHD TV, and have it setup for Dolby 5.1 Surround. Yes, the right, left, and center come from the soundbar, but it has extraordinary separation. The surround effect is VERY good. Much (MUCH) better than the comparable Samsung surround system I had prior. The Bose has a much more true surround experience, whereas the Samsung system sounded weak, with hardly any surround from the rear speakers.
