Personal amplifiers - collar style - for deaf person

I do not own any Bose products - yet. I myself am deaf and am bilaterally implanted (cochlear implant).  I am writing, however, on behalf of my elderly father.  He has lost much of his hearing. He SHOULD be wearing hearing aids but he has, over the years, steadfastly and adamantly refused.  He has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) which makes any kind of change in his life very difficult for him.  He does not acclimate easily or well to change.  After discussion with him and my mom, we believe he would be okay to use/wear a collar type amplifier. He absolutely does not want something that goes into his ears.  But, we need an amplifier which can pick up sounds from face-to-face conversations, not via Bluetooth or a Smartphone or TV.  Does such a device exist?  If so, which is that device?  A link to it online would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Bose product name

Country

Firmware Version

App Version

What devices were you using that were affected and what version are they on (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 11, iPhone X on iOS14, etc.)

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce

What environment do you experience the issue in? (e.g. noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?

Any troubleshooting steps you took

Re: Personal amplifiers - collar style - for deaf person

Hello Rachel,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

I am sorry, we do not make a device that would do this that does not sit inside the ears and does not have Bluetooth.

I am truly sorry for any inconvenience caused and wish you the best of luck in your search.
