I have the exact same problem as the previous posters - but on my Lifestyle 235!

 

So it seems fair to assume that the issue is unrelated to the specific lifestyle model but rather a software issue concerning boxes with external soundtouch adapters in general...

really disapointing support from bose

I consider to sell my system and buy another system from another brand

Reading these posts the issue was reported as early as 21st July.

7 weeks later, Bose is still figuring out the bugs in the updates they 'push' to their customers!

If you can't fix my 535, give me a new model that works!

So still no word from Bose. However, what I've found with my system is that the problem only occurs when the system is switched to SoundTouch at start up I.e. When the system was shut down, it was on SoundTouch. Therefore, when it starts up it's still on SoundTouch

 

. If it is, it fails every time. However, if the system is on another input e.g. Apple TV when the system is switched on, and you then switch to SoundTouch, there's no problem.  Discovered this by accident, but it's worked every time for the last 10 days.

Our development team is still currently investigating this issue. We will make sure to post any updates we receive to this thread.

 

@Paulkiwi, that is a great find! If there are any other users who are able to successfully use the SoundTouch portion of the system consistently using this temporary workaround, we would love to hear about it. We understand that this is not a permanent solution, but this may provide some temporary relief for a few users while we continue to work on a permanent resolution.

Same problem with my Lifestyle® SoundTouch® 535.

In addition to "Speaker playing another source" issue, it also cant find the soundtouch adapter connected to it via usb, once or twice a day. You have to unplug it and re connect it for it to work.

New update finally released. Have to restart everything ( again) and all seems to be well. I can’t help but wonder for how long. I have lost a lot of faith in the bose product due to issues with soundtouch.

and ...... 2 hours in and its says "playing from another source"  AGAIN!!!!!!!!
